Wonderful Dogs that make loving pets and companions
If you are interested in adopting a Career Change Dog from Dogs for the Deaf, please complete the Career Change Dog Application, and our staff will contact you when we have a dog that might be right for you. Our primary concern is to find the most suitable 'match' for both the dog and the new owner.
For a variety of reasons, some of the dogs we rescue from shelters just aren't cut out for our other programs, but they'd love to be somebody's faithful companion.
When a dog isn't able to complete one of our other programs, he or she becomes a Career Change Dog, ready to be adopted to a responsible, caring home.
Each of these dogs has been screened for temperament, provided medical care, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and put on a high quality, nutritious diet. We do not charge for our Career Change Dog adoptions, but we gladly take donations.
Because Dogs for the Deaf is located in Southern Oregon, Career Change Dogs are usually adopted to homes within driving distance of our facility. If you live outside the area, we encourage you to visit your local shelter when looking for a dog to add to your family.
Blink
Blink
Meet Blink, a sweet and lovable Mastiff/Lab mix. This well behaved, neutered, 4-5 year old pooch with a mellow personality has excellent house manners and is house trained.
Blink would make a devoted companion for a quiet, adult household with a predictable routine. He would make a terrific watchdog for someone who lives out in the country but he needs to be in the house with his person. This big boy weighs in at about 100 pounds. Blink is currently on a diet, as he needs to lose about 15 lbs.He really enjoys walks and chasing his rubber ball.
Blink has asked us to please make sure to tell any prospective “parents” that he doesn’t get along with cats and he’s a little shy of men. However, he likes other dogs. He also wants us to let people know that he bonds very easily and can’t wait to find his forever home.
If you think you might be interested in adopting Blink please contact Judy, DFD Adoption Coordinator, for more information. E-mail or call (541) 826-9220. You may also CLICK HERE for our adoption application.
Greta
Meet Greta...
Greta is a sweet, affectionate, 9 month old terrier mix. This young, energetic girl is up for plenty of exercise and is eager to continue her obedience training. She has a lot of potential and is as smart as a whip. Greta's loving nature shines through when she is with her person and she is a joy to be around.
Since Greta still has puppyish behaviors she would do best with older children. She will settle nicely in the house and has good house manners. For Greta, a fenced yard would be loads of fun. She thinks that hanging out with feline friends is fine. Greta is playful with her dog friends but prefers to be an only dog at home.
If you think you might be interested in adopting Greta, please contact Judy, DFD Adoption Coordinator, for more information. E-mail or call (541) 826-9220. You may also CLICK HEREfor our adoption application.
